Barron’s Creek Jerky was started about 15 years ago by Henry Colwell. Inspired by the culture of hunting, fishing, and camping of the local area, Henry knew he could take his love of tasty jerky and create a local, hand-made snack that would appeal to everyone who shares that same love. Today, Henry still makes his jerky slowly, in small batches, at his USDA approved facility in Rock Island. There are no large factories here, no vats of chemicals, just a man and his dream of a great snack.
